Universal Orlando Formally Announces Velocicoaster After Fumble

Congratulations to the Universal Orlando PR team. Your hands were tied, so you figured, why not? Just now, the VelociCoaster was formally announced to be opening in the summer of 2021.

I hear upper management wasn’t too pleased with the leak that came from their own website on Friday. Thus, the VelociCoaster had to be formally announced whether they were ready or not.

Good news, this time it’s official and they released some concept art as well as specs about the coaster!

  • Two launches, with the fastest reaching 70 miles per hour in 2.4 seconds
  • One-of-a-kind, 360-degree barrel roll above the Islands of Adventure lagoon
  • Zero-gravity inverted stall that will send riders upside down across 100 feet of track

Now THIS is how you do a formal announcement. Bravo! If a sizzle reel of what the coaster might look like, check out the video below!
