Trick Or Treating To Begin Testing at Islands of Adventure September 19

When Walt Disney World announced it would allow guests to start wearing costumes to help celebrate Halloween in 2020, Universal was definitely watching. Now Universal Orlando has announced that they too will allow guests to visit the resort in costume.

In what is a definite turn of events for Universal Orlando, costumes are now being allowed into the park for the Halloween season.

The list of “don’ts” for Universal Orlando is quite long. No live animals? Crazy. Anyhow, they are quick to point out that this is a test and only trying this out for the weekend. However, we most likely will see this as we get closer to Halloween as well.

However, in what sounds like a direct shot at Walt Disney World: guests 12 and under will be able to trick-or-treat! That’s right, Universal Studios Florida will have haunted houses. Islands of Adventure will feature trick or treating. Again, as of now, this is just a test. However, I have a feeling we will see this continue through the end of October.

Is this a benefit that gives Universal Orlando an edge in the 2020 Halloween event wars? Let us hear your thoughts!
