Dollywood Debuts New Drone Light Show

Are drones the new fireworks? We think it’s possible Today Dollywood is starting a new drone show that runs nightly through July 31.

From the press release:

Dollywood’s Sweet Summer Nights is a multi-sensory drone light show that creates a symphony of light in the sky above the Pigeon Forge park. Intel Drone Light Shows plans to launch hundreds of drones each evening for a spectacular nighttime experience representing a true evolution in traditional theme park entertainment. The sensational show uses up to 400 drones to animate the spectacular Dollywood-exclusive story. The drone performance is integrated into a musically choreographed fireworks show, creating a visual and audial event of epic proportions.

We believe this could be the start of a trend where drones and fireworks are shown simultaneously in theme parks nightly. The technology keeps getting better and the reliability and capability of what drones can do will only get stronger. This show is in addition to the amazing entertainment Dollywood already offers. If you’ve never been, I can’t recommend this park enough!
