By now you’ve probably seen the walk-around Transformers characters at Universal Parks around the world. Guests exitedly form lines for Megatron and Bumblebee daily in those parks, but what would be the reaction if there was an actual working Transformer? One that could actually take human passengers. That is now a real possibility.
This product debuted at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) in 2018 and it’s pretty incredible. The working prototype is known as “J-deite” and can be ridden with two passengers inside the car/robot. More importantly, it can actually be driven from the inside and it is operated by remote control. At this point, theme parks most likely would use them as character meet-and-greets and wouldn’t necessarily let guests drive them. However, I’m betting that this could eventually become a reality.
Check out the video above to see it in action! What do you think? Would you like to see an actual Transformer in a theme park? I think that vehicle right now would make a great addition to a parade or a character meet-and-greet!
