The Vault of Souls Returns This Halloween Season To Tampa Bay

What’s my favorite haunted attraction of all time in the Central Florida area? So glad you asked. It’s not in a theme park or even an open field. Actually, this is located in the real tunnels of an old bank smack dab in the middle of downtown Tampa.

“The Vault of Souls” may be the closest thing you can find to the awe-inspiring Sleep No More in New York City south of the Mason-Dixon line. The reason I like it is that it steps away from the mold of what you’re used to in a “Halloween” event. In reality, I think “The Vault of Souls” could be open year-round. This is not about jump scares or gore.

Instead, this is about getting lost in a world of interweaving characters. Each one of them has their own storyline and they are interconnected to one another. You’re encouraged to interact with them as well as the environment around you. There are plenty of vintage photos, hand written love letters and drawers to scuffle through to piece together parts of the story.

What is the story? Whatever you decide it is. No one is going to hold your hand and guide you from scene to scene. Nor will you leave with a linear narrative where all the dots are connected. Rather, you’ll be thinking about it for days and weeks to come and draw your own conclusions. Granted, Vault of Souls isn’t for everyone. This is not a conga line haunt designed to cram a thousand guests through in a night. Rather, this is more of an upscale exclusive piece of immersive theater.

This year, The Vault of Souls is running for an extremely limited engagment. Tickets will sell out since it is for such a small amount of dates. If you’re interested, visit their website to purchase. It’s truly an event you won’t forget!
