New Walking Dead Immersive Theater Experience opening in Atlanta

Few things get me as excited as immersive theater experiences. While I have attended many over the years, I have been waiting to find one tied to an intellectual property. As it turns out there is a new Walking Dead immersive theater show opening in Atlanta and running through the end of November 2015.

The Walking Dead Experience

The Walking Dead Experience takes place at Atlantic Station in Atlanta through November 29. This is a 30-minute walk through that only allows groups of seven to go through at a time.

The Walking Dead Experience

Set in over 10,000 square feet of highly produced sets and employing state-of-the-art technology and never-before-seen special effects. This attraction promises to take the rapidly developing genre of immersive extensions of popular entertainment brands to the next level.

The version running in Atlanta in November is Chapter 1. This actually drops participants in the “world on the night hell broke loose.” Subsequent versions of The Walking Dead Experience will further the stories found in books, comics and the television show.
Walking Dead Experience
The Walking Dead Experience is being created by immersive theater veterans with experience in theater shows like Sleep No More, Queen of the Night and even Blue Man Group.

Tickets for the attraction start at $50 and allow audiences to choose whether they want to be a survivor and/or a walker. Premium ticket options offer additional unique opportunities like show quality walker make-up and a customized one-on-one experience that the production calls a “sole survivor ticket.”

Walking Dead probably reached its peak. The 6th season is a big disappointment. We are into the 6th episode of the 6th season and they are still playing out the same day of episode 1. Two more episodes before the mid season finale. I’m almost had enough of watching the fiasco.
