Neil Patrick Harris and Derren Brown bringing Magic to NYC Spring 2017

If you’re a fan of magic, you need to do what I just did and book a ticket to New York City this spring ASAP. Starting April 5, you can catch “In & Of Itself” at the Daryl Roth Theater through June 5. This show combines magic with a unique form of immersive storytelling that ran in Los Angeles last year to sold out audiences and was extended several times to meet demand.

“In & Of Itself” is being produced by Prediction Productions, which is Neil Patrick Harris’ company and also produced last years run in Los Angeles. This year, the producer list grows with the Goddard Group (designers of fine theme park attractions), as well as Werner Entertainment (producers of many hit television shows). While I’ve personally stayed away from spoilers, Theme Park University’s e-mail was being blown up last year with people recommending this show. I highly recommend getting tickets to this show in advance as they will sell out.

No doubt, if you are a magic fan, you’ve got to be familiar with Derren Brown. The legendary mentalist (who has his own theme park attraction) has only played in the United Kingdom until spring 2017. Brown is bringing his show “Secret” to the Atlantic Theater in New York City starting April 21 for a short run. One of my personal heroes, He is quite possibly the most amazing magician you’ll find on the planet. No tigers, no saws cutting people in half and no scantily clad assistants. He makes magic intimate, personal and soul-searching. There is no other performer like him on the planet and while I have not personally seen “Secret” myself, you have to see this man to believe it. Get tickets before they are gone, magic nerds!
