Exploring Hunger Games: The Exhibition on The Las Vegas Strip

Recently I got a chance to visit a unique attraction on the Las Vegas strip, Hunger Games: The Exhibition!

Tucked away in the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, Hunger Games: The Exhibition is part interactive museum and part behind-the-scenes exhibit on the making of the film franchise.

Upon arriving, guests get to choose from one of several unique ticket designs after arriving in the lobby. The welcome area is set up like a futuristic train station that “boards” every few minutes to pulse people through the exhibition.

Once inside there are dozens of costumes and set pieces from the films scattered throughout Hunger Games: The Exhibition. Often times overhead monitors play clips from the scenes that have been recreated in front of you.

Throughout the space, there are interactive areas such as this trivia game show. Guests are given questions about The Hunger Games films and can stand on one of two circles to give their answer.

While the attraction definitely had a certain polish to it, I couldn’t help but feel there wasn’t much to actually do here. Sure, you could maybe kill an hour if you participated in every single interactive exhibit, but that didn’t seem like enough to justify the cost.

With tickets at $35, unless you are a major Hunger Games fan, I’d say it wasn’t worth the cost. However, you can see that the costumes area is quite impressive.

It seems that most of the exhibit is dedicated to costumes. And if that’s your thing? Great, but I’m guessing that the general public isn’t going to find that it justifies the cost of the ticket.

While we can’t exactly recommend Hunger Games: The Exhibition, we have to say that the staff there was the friendliest we have seen at any attraction in a long time. Always smiling and engaging and very welcoming.
