Magic Kingdom Adding More Attractions to FastPass Plus

As many of you know, FastPass Plus at Walt Disney World has had its fair share of growing pains. By now, guests have not only become accustomed to having the majority of attractions, character meet-and-greets and even parades available to book months in advance of their vacation, they expect it. While not a perfect system, many of those wrinkles have been ironed out and My Magic Plus operates much smoother than when it was first introduced.

Part of what makes Walt Disney World so unique is their commitment to listening to guest feedback. Since its inception, what guests have requested more than anything else has been loud and clear: more FastPass Plus.

Carousel of Progress

Recently, Walt Disney World has been hard at work adding new experiences at the Magic Kingdom in response to direct Guest feedback.

Carousel of Progress

In the coming weeks, Guests will be able to make FastPass Plus reservations at two attractions in Tomorrowland: Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, which started testing today.

Long before we launched My Disney Experience, it was always our goal to add every single attraction at Walt Disney World to the list and today’s announcement was one step closer to that goal,” said Executive Vice President for the Walt Disney World Resort Michael Ovitz.

Hall of Presidents

Following the additions in Tomorrowland, later this month, guests will be able to book the Hall of Presidents 60 days in advance when staying on Walt Disney World property and up to 30 days out for those who buy tickets who are not staying at the resort.

On many occasions, families tell us that they need to build in a break during their day at the Magic Kingdom,” explained Magic Kingdom Vice President Tom Williams. “Adding the Hall of Presidents, Prince Charming’s Royal Carousel and the Carousel of Progress to our offerings of FastPass Plus schedules those much needed downtimes in advance.”

Swiss Family Treehouse

Our guests have also requested to build in times when they can burn off those calories from snacks like Premium Mickey Bars, Dole Whips and turkey legs,” said Williams. “That’s why we are pleased to be adding the Swiss Family Treehouse to the My Disney Experience FastPass Plus reservation system in the very near future.”

Looks like early testing for the Treehouse began today as well and Guests really have been utilizing the option to book these experiences on the day of their visit via the My Disney Experience app.

Granted I have never been there at seriously peak times, but I just don’t understand CoP or the TTA. There has never been an instance where we didn’t just walk on within a few minutes to either one. So I can only assume that the idea to add the “break” in your schedule instead of just winging it when you feel you need a rest, is the main focus. When is the last time CoP has actually filled a theater?
