Ellen’s Energy Adventure History Chronicled in Latest Martin Smith Video

2017 was the year we saw many classic attractions close in Orlando. Personally, the biggest loss for me is Ellen’s Energy Adventure at Epcot. While the attraction was refurbished in 1996, to me it still represented part of the original mission for EPCOT Center. Not to mention, it had my personal favorite soundtrack from any attraction on the planet. Just when I think I know all there is to know about an attraction, Martin Smith comes along with another video and blows me away.

As usual, this new Ellen’s Energy Adventure comes with rarely seen concept art, behind-the-scenes facts and of course, a wonderfully shot and edited ride-through video.

One of my favorite facts I learned in this new video was the title of the attraction changed from when it was first announced. Who knew that it was originally called Ellen’s Energy Crisis before it was Ellen’s Energy Adventure?

The amount of time it must take to do these videos is mind-boggling. The ride-through portion of the video is just under 45-minutes, but the entire Ellen’s Energy Adventure video is double that! 90 minutes of additional photos, track layouts and even a little authorized backstage filming as well!

Enjoy the video above and remember, these are done as a love for the attractions. Martin doesn’t collect a dime from them. While 2017 was a shock to the system when it came to big attraction closures, it’s nice to be able to visit them again in digital form and learn a little something too.
