Universal Creative Represented in Spider-Man Queue at Islands of Adventure

Spider-Man Queue at Islands of Adventure

Continuing our series on locations where you can find tributes to the top brass at Universal Orlando and Universal Creative, today we journey to the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man at Islands of Adventure. If you’ve ever been in the standby queue, you’ll notice a trophy case filled with awards from staff members of The Daily Bugle.

Pictured above is the certificate for Ben Lovelace, who was the Senior Ride Show Manager for Universal Orlando when the ride opened.

Above is the certificate for Mark Rhodes! If you’re unfamiliar with his work or want to hear some great stories on how these projects come together, take a listen to the Theme Park University Radio podcast! We did a full hour interview with Mark and Shane from Rhodes to Imagination!

Thierry Coup is a name most of my readers will recognize as the Senior Vice President of Universal Creative who is responsible for many rides from Spider-Man to Harry Potter, Transformers and beyond. Coup started his career in Hollywood as set designer for movies like Back to the Future, but now is one of the driving forces behind Universal’s recent surge of success.
