Tuesday, February 24 marked a milestone for Sea Life Aquarium in Orlando, as they held a ceremony marking the filling of their Atlantic Ocean tank.
A unique feature to this version of Sea Life is there will be three distinct aquariums representing the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans.

Sea Life brought in three time Olympic Gold Medalist Rowdy Gaines to help fill the tank! Here’s a video of it being filled:
“As someone who has spent half their life in the water, I’m so excited to be on hand for this water fill milestone,” said Gaines, who serves as Vice President of Aquatics for the Central Florida YMCA. “It’s great to see children appreciate and learn about the world’s oceans, and how to help respect and protect the Florida Everglades which is in our backyard.”
In total, 45,000 pounds of sand have been placed around the attraction…
…which is nothing compared to the 90,000 pounds of salt that will be added to make the new aquatic residents comfy.
It will take 192,000 gallons of water to fill the tank and roughly two days to fill it entirely.
