October 2014 marks the 10th anniversary of one of the country’s most unique Halloween offerings, the Great Jack-O-Lantern Blaze in Sleepy Hollow, New York.
Every year, the team from Blaze carves, illuminates and sculpts over 5,000 pumpkins into massive sculptures that last year were seen by 100,000 visitors.
You can find everything from dinosaurs made from pumpkins…
…. and eight-foot-tall working jack-o-lanterns-in-the-box.
It’s incredible how many sculptures they create out of pumpkins and new this season will be a giant headless horseman made entirely out of jack-o-lanterns.
In addition, the Great Jack-O-Lantern Blaze features Horseman’s Hollow, an interactive adventure recommended for ages 10-and-up.
Horseman’s Hollow is the scarier portion of the event featuring live actors and state-of-the-art special effects.
Custom built set pieces and period-correct costumes help orient the experience in Philipsburg Manor’s traditional time period of the mid-1700s.
The event even features its own soundtrack created by professional musician and radio personality Richard Christy and they even sell it on Amazon!
