On the 43rd anniversary of Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, very quietly, the doors creaked open to the first shop that exclusively carries Haunted Mansion merchandise since the park opened, Memento Mori.
The former Yankee Trader shop once held exclusively Disney kitchen and home related items due to it’s previous sponsorship with the Smuckers company. Over the years, some Haunted Mansion exclusive merchandise started creeping it’s way in especially after the removal of the Madame Leota cart several years ago.
Along with the new shop comes an entire line of “Haunted Mansion Authentic” merchandise created specifically for this store.
Most of the merchandise actually carries the “Haunted Mansion Authentic” stamp somewhere on each item. If I could take a guess as to why this is, it would be due to so many people create Haunted Mansion “inspired” items on Etsy these days, I feel Disney needs to differentiate their products from other unofficial ones found online.
The theme of most merchandise items follows the notion that Master Gracey, the illustrious and fabled owner of the Haunted Mansion, had an estate sale.

And there are plenty of toys and plushes too…
I personally loved the higher end items to help decorate my house…
In addition there are all kinds of trinkets and even snacks!
Most of Memento Mori are items you can wear…
The theming consists of several special effects, some weren’t working just yet, but others were like this painting that occasionally came to life when black light was applied.
Normally, Theme Park University brings you the latest in how theme parks work and the inside scoop. However, today, we geeked out a bit and spent a ton of money in this new store. It’s about time they created such great attraction specific merchandise – especially around such a classic attraction. Bravo to the WDW merchandise team and everyone else involved!
