As we barrel closer to June 2016, more details are finally coming out about Shanghai Disneyland and it seems that this park will be truly spectacular. A recent publicity tour has started popping up in malls around China and a TPU reader got us some exclusive photos of the exhibit.
This traveling exhibit will be stopping in several locations near the Shanghai Disneyland Resort over the next few weeks. Depending on the day of your visit, you might be able to have a photo opportunity with Mickey and Minnie!
The exhibit has an extensive collection of concept art, models, photos and videos of Shanghai Disneyland and much of it has not been seen by the public yet.
For example, this photo of the mock up for Buzz Lightyear Astro Rescue is the first I have seen anywhere.
In addition, there are mock ups of wait time signs for all of Tomorrowland.
And even the Tomorrowland entrance sign, which looks fairly similar to one used in Hong Kong Disneyland.
Below are some pictures of the Tron Lightcycle Power Run testing for various projection sequences.
Moving on, this exhibit has also given us some great details from Mickey Avenue, the Shanghai Disneyland equal to Main Street.
There is also a lot of great artwork and models for the Camp Discovery challenge trail.
There are also some never-before-seen previews of Garden of the Twelve Friends, which will sit just in front of Storybook Castle in the park.
In this same area, you’ll find the Fantasia Carousel, which will also be a first in any Disney theme park.
One of the things I am looking forward to is the Alice in Wonderland Maze, which is based on the Tim Burton film.
There is also a model of the Storybook Castle, as well as the ride underneath and behind it: Voyage to the Crystal Grotto!
In addition, there is some concept art on display for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and if you’ll notice, there are some slight changes from the Orlando version!
There were also some shots from the Toy Story Hotel, most of which have been seen before.
And, of course, some details of the Shanghai Disneyland hotel, which looks incredible!
Finally, we will look at some concept art for Disneytown, the Shanghai equivalent to Downtown Disney.
Thanks for taking a look around this special exhibit! Stay tuned for more information as Shanghai Disneyland gets closer to opening day!
