Warning: Today’s post is a little on the naughty side, consider it NSFW and proceed at your own risk!!
Disney has always been synonymous with squeaky clean, family friendly entertainment. However as my buddy Ron Schneider always says, every now and then Disney will always throw in “a little something for the Daddy’s”.
The public seems to have always been fascinated with the naughty side of Disney from that dust cloud in The Lion King spelling the word “sex”, to that infamous Little Mermaid movie poster with an underwater castle made of phallic symbols.
Those of you who fall under this category who can’t seem to get enough “naughty Disney”, boy have I got a great way for you to feed your fetish this coming weekend.
Burlesqueland VI will take place in Los Angeles at various locations throughout the weekend and will culminate in an after party at Trader Sam’s at the Disneyland Hotel on Sunday evening at 9 pm.
Now is a good time to make it perfectly clear that the Walt Disney Company has nothing to do with this event. Just like Saturday Night Live can parody Disney characters, so can Burlesqueland. Who knows whether or not top executives are happy with this or not, but this being the sixth year of the event, it’s a pretty safe bet they are fine being able to… uh…. pull this off.
Here are a few highlights to look forward to this year:
Red Snapper will be doing her WILD interpretation of Mr. Toad’s ride…complete with a scaled down version of one of the cars from the ride.
Panama Red (who won “Master Of Tassels” and “Master Of Assels” at last year’s Burlypicks Festival) will be doing two different interpretations of FANTASIA over the two nights, including opening with a fantastic group number on night two that nobody will want to miss.
There will be no repeat performances over the 3 nights of the festival. It will be a totally different show every night!
If I were in Los Angeles this weekend? I would love to catch one of these shows. Just a heads up, this is not for children. All guests must be 18 years of age or older (with valid identification for proof). That said, they promise to keep everything PG-13!
So if you happen to live in Southern California or even happen to be visiting Disneyland this weekend on vacation, why not take a break from the kiddies and catch a truly unique Disney burlesque show that’ll make your fellow Disney fans jealous for years to come?
