Disney British Film References abound in Disney Wonder Bar

Upon first glance, the new Crown & Fin Pub aboard the Disney Wonder cruise ship is an extremely well-themed British pub and nothing more.

Upon entering the Crown & Finn Pub, most patrons won’t even notices the dozens of nods to British Disney films on the walls and shelves. However, sharp-eyed Disney nerds will pick up on many of the references scattered throughout. Let’s take a look around, shall we?

For example, to the right upon entering is this assortment of trunks and newspapers. While you can’t move the black trunk, you can see a partial name. Context clues will tell you that it belongs to Professor Emelius Browne from Disney’s “Bedknobs and Broomsticks.”

As a matter of fact, there is even concept art from “Bedknobs and Broomsticks” across the bar, which is framed and hanging on the wall.

Located near Professor Browne’s trunk is this box full of rolled up newspapers. Again, you can’t move them. However, you can spot references to “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Wind in the Willows.”

Speaking of, there are also several nods that don’t necessarily link back to their Disney counter-parts like this rendering of the characters of “Wind in the Willows” hanging on the wall.

On the other hand, there are definitely references to Disney’s version of Mr. Toad hanging about as well.

OK… this has been driving me crazy.  This picture hangs in the corner by the bar itself. Who is this Disney character? I have been racking my brain for days and can’t figure it out! Give me a shout on social media and let me know!

And then there is this. Also a head scratcher. Kermit the Frog on the street and only a partial headline available. If the theme is British Disney related movies, what could it be?

There were also several great concept art sketches for “101 Dalmatians” scattered about the Crown & Fin.

In addition, there are books scattered throughout the pub on shelves, with more subtle nods to books that inspired Disney animated classics. Here are a few that I spotted!

Speaking of Robin Hood, here is a great piece of concept art found near the bar as well.

Now I’m sure I missed a few references, but next time you’re on the Disney Wonder, you absolutely must spend some time at the Crown & Fin and check out all the details! Tell me what I missed!
