While I sort through my photos and videos, I thought it might be fun to post some photos I took of the queue and ride at Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for Sunken Treasure in Shanghai Disneyland.
If there was one thing I kept saying over and over again in Shanghai Disneyland, it’s how much detail was put into every tiny thing. Everything from the attractions, their queues, merchandise locations, restaurants and even bathrooms. The park is filled with eye candy no matter where you look.
What follows is a handful of photos I took just in the queue for Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for Sunken Treasure and a few that were on board the attraction.
It’s important to stop and notice the subtle nuances within this queue. The various types of brickwork in the archways, the lighting fixtures and even the props on the wall give the location a sense of character and legitimacy.
Granted, not everyone will appreciate the details put into the queue and that’s okay. Many of the storytelling elements are subtle, but they are definitely there.
Once inside, there are several show scenes just overflowing with details. Until I got home and had a chance to really analyze these photos, I was unable to really take it all in.
If you look all the way at the bottom of this image, you can see an empty boat circling around toward unload ready to pick up a few passengers.
Keep in mind, this ride is completely based around the characters from the films. For those who haven’t seen them, these scenes within the queue help setup the story for those unfamiliar.
Considering how much bigger the boats are, the load area is fairly massive compared to other Pirates rides around the world.
Just ahead are a few spoiler shots from the ride. If you want to leave Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for Sunken Treasure a mystery, by all means skip reading the rest of this article now!
